New Long Bean Varieties Combat Pests and Lower Production Costs

Dr. Bao Lam Huynh has created four new pest-resistant long bean varieties to reduce pesticide use and production costs. Supported by a $400,000 grant, these beans are easier to harvest and aim to boost market appeal.

These findings were recently published in the Journal of Plant Registrations with the title Registration of four pest-resistant long bean germplasm lines.

The full article about these findings and the publication of this research can be found on the UCR News site, titled Protecting popular beans from bad bugs.
